How this is calculated
- Expected pace = days elapsed ÷ total flight days. Actual pace = spend to date ÷ total budget. The gap between those two is the variance.
- ±5% variance is treated as on track; beyond ±15% is flagged as a real risk of over- or under-delivering the budget.
- Required daily spend is simply what's left in the budget divided by what's left in the flight.
